9 days left...

Til I'm home for 2 weeks! I have really been a slacker on the blogging lately. We have actually had a busy week. All of our Memorial Day weekend plans were canceled due to the weather. Saturday we checked out Sadie's Flea Market, one of the biggest in the U.S. It was pretty neat if you're into going to flea markets. Only the indoor section was set up because the weather was so bad but the booths ranged from brand new items to junk that you couldn't sell at a yard sale. I think my Scentsy products would do well there if I ordered them in advance and had the products there for people to see but I probably won't get to that point until after I make some profit.

On Monday we kept ourselves occupied by painting some more decorations for the baby's room (including the helicopter pictured) and setting up our new grill. The grill was supposed to only take an hour to set up but ended up taking 2 1/2. We were so tired after that that it was hard to enjoy the massive amount of steaks that we grilled.

Tuesday Kevin finally started his classes! This week hasn't been too intense, they're really just getting started, but he is very excited to finally be doing something. In his breaks during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday we started looking at houses with a realtor. We've decided that it will probably be a very good move to buy a new house to live in for the next couple of years. That way we won't be losing money on rent. After we leave we will continue to rent the house out. So far we've found 2 or 3 that we really love, we are just taking our time to make sure that we find the best one. Plus our lease in the house we're in now doesn't end until September so we would have to wait until then to move anyways.

Tonight we are going to Kevin's friend Denver's house for a cook out. I hear we're having shishkabobs and fruit salad...mmm. I'm going to make pasta salad as well. Denver's girlfriend just got into town so it won't be all guys this time...YAY!

PS If you're wondering where my weekly belly pic is, I'll admit that we forgot to take it. Hopefully we'll get one today and I'll post it ASAP! I'll be 32 weeks on Sunday which means we only have around 8 weeks to go!

30.5 weeks

The past week has been pretty uneventful. The weather has been cool and rainy so that has kept us in the house more than usual. On Sunday we rented a little fishing boat and went out on Lake Tholocco. As we were trying to get off the lake a huge storm blew in and we ended up getting caught in it. I also slipped and fell which was kind of traumatic at the time.

We have been helping one of Kevin's friends plan a bbq for Sunday to celebrate Memorial Day. We rented out a huge pavilion and a ski boat with tubes for the day. Hopefully the weather will turn around before then. Our roommate's wife is also visiting this week which has been nice for me. Andy ended up getting the flu and not being able to come :(.

I have been trying to work hard on getting my Scentsy business up and running but sales have been really slow so far. I have been gathering supplies for a booth and wanted to try them out at a flea market this weekend but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate so we might just go scope it out and plan for next weekend. If you haven't checked out my Scentsy web site yet the link is www.scentsy.com/adriane

The really exciting news to report from the past week is that we booked my Dad's plane ticket to fly down June 5th. He will be helping me drive home and we should arrive on the Sunday of that weekend! I am so excited to come back and visit with everyone. It has been way too long! I will probably stay until around June 22nd. Anyone want to volunteer to drive back down with me? :) :) :)

On a sad note, I heard from my family this morning that my great Uncle Less has passed away. He really held on for a long time, but he is much better off now. It is always sad to hear that you have lost a family member but I think the family agrees that he is in a much better place and is finally free from suffering. I don't think I will be able to make it to Buffalo for his funeral but my thoughts are with everyone else who is able to attend. Rest in Peace!

29.5 weeks

My weekly belly pic update:

As of my appointment on Tuesday I have gained 22 lbs! The doctor said everything was looking really good. I had a rhogram shot and had blood taken and the only bad thing they found was that my iron levels were a little low. We are going to wait until I go back again in 3 weeks to see if that changes.

I'm a Scentsy Consultant!

So now that we are all settled into the house and I have realized that Enterprise isn't as exciting as I thought it would be, I decided that I needed to find some kind of hobby. After doing some research online I came across Scentsy products and instantly fell in love! I normally wouldn't think that sales sounded like fun, but after looking at Scenty's products, I couldn't help but want to give it a try. Scentsy wickless candles are a much safer alternative to traditional flamed candles. They use no flame, are highly scented, and are completely safe to use around kids and pets (that was a big part of the selling point for me with a little one on the way!). Scentsy candles are wickless, flameless and smokeless. The exclusive Scentsy wax bars are melted by a small lightblub in one of many decorative warmers. The wax bars are available in over 80 exclusive scents! Scentsy also makes car candles and room sprays. Once you take a look at all of the warmers on the web site I think you will see how I got roped in. I can't wait to buy a few girly animal print ones to place throughout our house (and maybe a manly one for Kevin's office)! If you think that the Scentsy products sound like something you would enjoy, take a look at my web site for the complete collection and more information: www.scentsy.com/adriane . If you find anything that you'd like to order, you can either do it on my site by clicking on the "place an order" tab at the top of the page or by getting ahold of me and I'll place an order for you.

Where We're Registered

So yesterday after doing a little shopping we decided that as far as baby gear goes...Target had a lot more to offer in some areas than Babies 'R Us did. So now we are registered at both! Some of their prices are better, and they are probably a lot more accessible for some people. A few people have been asking about this so I just thought I'd keep you all in the loop! :)

My first Mother's Day

Yesterday Kevin and I celebrated my first Mother's Day! I completely forgot until a few days before that by becoming parents we would add a few more holidays to our calenders. Kevin made the day really special for me! He cooked me a nice breakfast when we woke up, took me shopping and out for a late lunch in Dothan and then we went to a cookout to make a few more new friends. Ok...so maybe it doesn't sound that exciting but it was SO nice for me to get out of the house for the entire day. I was worn out by the end of it!

It's crazy to think that next year at this time we will have a 10 month old! As the weather down here gets hotter and I get bigger I wish it were July even more. Yesterday it was 90 degrees! Tomorrow we have a doctor's appointment, ultrasound and a baby preparation class in the evening so it will be another exciting day.

Ohh and I forgot...Kevin caught his first fish in Lake Tholocco on Saturday! Actually I think he and his friend caught quite a few. One of them was called an Alligator Gar...google it and see what it looks like. It's freaky! Of course his wasn't very big but it was still a surprise.

Well I am off to do some things around the house. Hope all of the mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day!

PS Congratulations to all of my friends back home that are graduating! I'm so proud of you and I wish that I was closer so I could congratulate you in person.

28.5 weeks down!

28 1/2 weeks picture taken yesterday in the nursery!

PS this picture kind of makes it look like it but I am NOT balding, although I'm not sure I really have that beautiful thick hair pregnant women are supposed to get :)

Around the House

There hasn't been a lot of excitement to report on the past few days, but we have made some improvements around the house! We finally found a nice kitchen table (with chairs!) and bought seat covers and a few other decorations to go with it. The kitchen is pretty much complete! We have also been doing some work on the nursery. The crib is all set up and the bedding is clean and ready for baby. On Saturday we bought a few shelves and some other do-it-yourself decorations to spice up the room. We spent the rest of the weekend painting and relaxing.

Yesterday we attended our weekly baby preparation class. It was all about relaxation and breathing. It was my favorite class so far. We watched a video demonstrating the different breathing techniques and then we got to sit on the floor to try it out. They played ocean sounds music and we took deep breaths in and out while the men had to give us back rubs :). I almost fell asleep! I told Kevin we should practice that every day, haha. Next Tuesday will be our last class which is kind of sad. I really look forward to seeing other ladies going through the same things every week. Tuesday will also be a VERY exciting day for us. We get to have our 4th (and probably final) ultrasound which will be completely in 3D. After that we will have a lot more pictures to post and a video.

Well, the tornado siren just started going off and Kevin is on base so I think I am going to go hide in a closet (The weather hasn't been too great the past couple of days). I will post my 28 week belly pic later today.

What you've all been waiting for

Well...I figure it's about time I break down and show you all just how big the belly has gotten over the last month. In this picture I am about 27 1/2 weeks (just starting the 3rd and final trimester!). From now on I will try to take one weekly so you can track my growth. I should have started doing this a long time ago but we always forget.

This weekend should be a little more exciting than the past week. The only excitement we really had was Kevin's dentist appointment yesterday, selling our kitchen table and doing a little work on the nursery (more pics to come soon). Tomorrow morning we are planning to go to Babypalooza, a baby expo in Dothan (yay!), and then to Destin, FL to hit the beach Saturday afternoon.

The plans for my visit to WV, MD & the surrounding areas are finally coming along. Hope to know for sure what I am doing in the next couple of days but it is looking like the first 3 weeks in June. I am SO excited to get back and see everyone!

Well, have a great weekend everyone!
