Christiane's Graduation Party

We celebrated Christiane's graduation a few days after the ceremony, on Sunday.  The party was a luau theme and the delicious food was made by Aunt Sherrie, Mom, Chris and Brandon.  It was kind of hot, but other than that it was a great day to sit around outside and eat great food!  Here are some pictures from the party...

Christiane's BCHS Graduation

My little sister, Christiane, graduated from Braxton County High School May 28, 2010.  We were able to make it home just in time for the ceremony.  Christiane thought we weren't going to be in town until the next day, so she was very surprised when we showed up a few hours before graduation started.  It was so nice to be there for her special day, especially now that we miss out on so many family events.

The graduation ceremony was held in the BCHS gym.  It was a tight squeeze, but it ended up being a very nice ceremony despite the crowd and the heat.  Kerriann was pretty fussy most of the time (it started at 8 which is her usual bedtime), so for most of the evening I stood in the doorway with her.  She seemed to like that a little better.

Kerriann's BF turns 1

Kerriann's best friend Madison celebrated her first birthday on May 3.  Her parents, Chris and Katie, were nice enough to have Kevin, Kerriann, and I and two other couples and their daughters over for her party.  We ate some tasty enchiladas and the girls enjoyed playing together, as always.  Maddie was even nice enough to let her guests try out her new water table.  Everyone had a lot of fun and the girls were wiped out by the end of the day.  Below are a few pictures of them playing outside in the water table...

SPLASH!

Right after our trip home for the holiday season ended, I told myself that I HAD to get out and make some good friends in Alabama.  I had just been a hermit for far too long.  Kerriann was turning 6 months old and I finally felt like I was getting enough sleep at night to be semi-social.  I've probably talked about this before, but I started taking Kerriann to a weekly "Mommy and Me" playgroup at Fort Rucker.  Our first week we met another mom, Katie, and her daughter Madison.  Madison is exactly 3 months older than Kerriann, born May 3 of last year (which reminds me, I still need to post pictures of her first birthday party!).

Anyways, over the past few months Katie and I have become pretty close, and I'm sad to say that she and her husband will be relocating to Ft. Hood, Texas at the end of July.  I'm not going to get all emotional about it right now, but I just wanted to give the background of the little girl in these pictures!

A few weeks ago Kevin and I along with Katie and her husband Chris took the girls to the Splash! Zone water park at Ft. Rucker.  It's a little water park that has a restaurant and bar attached to it.  It's really nice, and if I get any visitors this summer I'll be sure to take them there ;).  Here are some pictures of Kerriann and Maddie soaking up the sun!

Catching up...

Wow... it's been ages since I last updated!  As many of you know, we took a trip home at the end of May/beginning of June to attend my sister's graduation and to do some wedding planning.  We were very busy the week before and now a week and a half after our trip ended I'm STILL playing catch up!  So bear with me while I back track and get you all up to date on what we've been up to for the past month :).
