40 weeks 5 days

Just wanted to let everyone know that we're STILL waiting on the baby to arrive! We've been trying to stay busy all week but there's still not a lot to do. The weather has been horrible...thunderstorms every day. My mom and Jack have been in New Orleans exploring since Wednesday. I really wish we had gone now that I know I wouldn't have gone into labor while we were there but I know it was better to be safe than sorry. They will be back sometime tonight and then will be making their way back to WV tomorrow afternoon. I'm upset that they weren't able to help us get settled in with the baby but what can you do?

Kevin's parents are flying into Pensacola, FL this afternoon so he is out of town all day to pick them up. I'm a little nervous about being home alone with everyone so far away but hopefully if I go into labor today it will progress slowly. They are staying until next Thursday...it will be so nice to have them in town!

I'm actually pretty excited that I will most likely have an August baby now. My birthday is August 27 so it has always been my favorite month :). My doctor has scheduled me for an induction on Monday but I'm still not sure if I am going to chicken out and reschedule for later in the week. I really want a natural birth and I just can't help but wonder if I will go into labor on my own if I have a few more days. We will see how things go over the next couple of days before we make a decision.

Hopefully in the next couple of days we will have a much more exciting update to post but until then...have a great weekend everyone! :)

Panama City Beach-40 weeks 1 day

Yesterday we took my mom and Jack to Panama City Beach. We thought if we were 2 hours away from the hospital that something might happen...but unfortunately we didn't have any luck. It was still a great day! We relaxed on the beach for a couple of hours and then had dinner at a restaurant in Pier Park, a neat outdoor shopping center on the beach.

Today I have a doctor appointment in Dothan so we will probably find something to do in that area. The weather doesn't look like it is going to be great for the rest of the week so we will have to work around that.

I'll keep everyone updated if anything exciting happens this afternoon at the doctor!

Happy Due Date to Me!

I'm officially 40 weeks pregnant! This time I REALLY hope today are the last weekly pictures I take. I'll get one of my usuals later tonight to post but here are a few from this afternoon. My next doctor's appointment is Tuesday when we will find out what the next steps will be...probably depending on if I have made any progress (still none as of last Wednesday).

Last night my mom and Jack got into town so we have been visiting with them all day. We gave them a tour of Fort Rucker and went to the aviation museum. Right now Kevin and Jack are fishing while my mom and I relax...hopefully they have some good luck!

39 weeks...my last picture?

It's been another slow week for Kevin and me. Last Tuesday the doctor appointment went well but there wasn't anything too exciting to report. He said I was "thinning" but that was about all as far as bodily changes. He also said he would be out of the office all this week but would return on Friday, his on call day. He offered an induction starting Thursday night so we would have the baby on Friday but we are turning him down. I really want to have a natural birth with no pain medications and agreeing to an induction is pretty much setting myself up for failure. My next appointment is tomorrow and we will be seeing a different doctor which will be a little weird. We are going to go over a few things that we would like to have done differently than most people so I am a little nervous about what they are going to say.

On Friday we met with our doula! If you don't know what that is, google it and you can get a better description than I can give but it's pretty much a labor coach. Every woman she has worked with so far who wanted to have a natural birth was successful! I hope I'm not her first failure, haha! She is on call for us 24/7 from now until the time the baby is born. When I go into labor we will call her and she'll come to our house and help us get through it, then she'll come with us to the hospital and be there until an hour or two after the birth. I think it will be really great to have her knowledge and support since we are so far away from all of our friends and family. She has worked with this hospital and the doctors there before so she really knows what to expect and how to make sure that our wishes are met.

On Friday morning Kevin hurt his knee playing frisbee so we have been taking it pretty easy since then. We are a pretty sad sight these days with both of us waddling and hobbling along. He talked me into buying him a cane so it has been pretty funny watching him use it around the house. Saturday he went to a wood shop class in the morning. We are hoping he can become pretty good so he can build things for the new house. Sunday we finished up all of the last minute shopping we had to do for the baby. After that we met with the owner of the house we are buying to go over how to take care of the pool and a few other things around the house. We are SO ready to move in! It can't come soon enough.

My Mom and Jack are coming into town on Saturday and staying for a week and Kevin's parents will be here next Friday to stay into the middle of the next week. It will be so nice to have company around to liven this place up. At this point all we are really doing is sitting and waiting. I guess we should enjoy the peace now before things really get busy. I have a feeling that once the baby is here time is going to start flying by!

38 weeks

38 weeks as of Sunday July 13...13 days until my due date! This means that I have less than 4 weeks at the very longest since they will only let me go 2 weeks past the 26th. But hopefully it will be a lot sooner! Can't wait to find out what the doctor thinks at my appointment tomorrow afternoon.

Happy 4th of July!

Just wanted to share a few pictures from our 4th of July weekend! Unfortunately we didn't have a "firecracker" baby but we did have a pretty good time. Friday night we checked out Freedom Fest on Ft Rucker where we enjoyed some great carnival food (BBQ sandwiches and funnel cakes). We didn't stay for long because of the heat and the fact that we forgot chairs or a blanket but I'm glad we saw what it was all about. They were giving out helicopter rides and Kevin really wanted me to go but they were sold out when we got there...bummer! Hopefully I will get a chance the next time.

On Saturday Kevin had to participate in a military funeral in the morning so when he was finished we went to Dothan and had dinner with Henry and Carmen at Olive Garden...mmm! After that we went back to their house and set off a ton of fireworks with them and a couple other friends. The neighbors were really hating us by the end of the night... one of the huge ones fell over and shot into a cookout that was going on down the street. Luckily the boys talked their way out of a fight while the girls hid in the house, haha. Hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend!

Guess Baby Herlihy's Birthday!

So last night I found this web site where you can make an online pool and take guesses at what baby's birthday, birth weight and length will be. Just thought it would be fun to post it and see what everyone thinks! If you want to take a guess, visit It will be fun to see who ends up being the closest!

Month 9

I cannot believe that today is the 1st of July! The past few months have gone by so fast. It is crazy to think that we have been in Alabama for over 3 months now. I am also less than 4 weeks from my due date. I passed the 36 week mark on Sunday. Monday I had an appointment with my doctor but there was no progression to report. I don't go back for another 2 weeks so hopefully by then we will have an exciting update. The past couple of days I have been trying to relax and get the house put back together after the trip and having company. I'm hoping to have everything set up and in place for the baby by the end of the week. My doctor has told us that if labor would start we wouldn't stop it at this point so I want to be ready just in case the little one decides to come early. We still need to set up the pack 'n play, install the car seat base, and finish packing our hospital bags. Of course there are a lot of other little things that need done but once we finish those I will feel a lot more relaxed.

I am starting to become a lot more uncomfortable. By the end of the day my back is normally killing me and if I've been on my feet during the day my ankles get pretty sore too. The baby is also becoming so strong that sometimes when she kicks and moves around it's almost painful for me. I can't be mad though because it just lets us know that all is well in there. Kevin and I are getting more and more excited each day. We are ready to enjoy our daughter and for my aches and pains to be over.

Kevin is working all afternoon so I will try to get a new week 36 picture to add to this when he gets back.

July Scentsy Update

With the start of each month I must fill everyone in on the latest Scentsy updates! July's warmer of the month, PLAY BALL, is available starting today! The scent of the month is BUBBLEGUM. My monthly e-newsletter will also be going out sometime over the next week so let me know if you would like me to add you to my list. As always, if you have any questions about Scentsy products let me know and be sure to pass my web site onto friends that might be interested (www.scentsy.com/adriane).

***For some reason the coloring on the photo isn't working correctly. The warmer is actually red and white (just like a baseball!) and is pictured in correct form on my web site. Will try to get this problem fixed and updated soon!
