Boating on Lake Tholocco

On Sunday of my mom and Christiane's visit to AL we took Christiane boating with a few of Kevin's friends that he made while I was home. It was a ton of fun! Everyone but me took turns riding on the tube and after that we had a little cook out on the beach. I didn't last on the boat for the entire afternoon because it was SO HOT but I was really glad I was able to go out for a couple of hours. Poor Christiane stubbed her toe and cut it open pretty bad so we relaxed in the air conditioned restaurant while everyone else finished up on the boat. Kevin's friends Henry and Carmen had just adopted a German Shepard puppy the day before so he came out on the boat with us too. He was such a good boy that Kevin is trying to convince me that we should get the last puppy left from his litter... we'll see...

Panama City Beach

While my mom and sister, Christiane, were in town for a few days we decided that a trip to see us wouldn't be complete without going to the beach. So Saturday we packed a bunch of food and headed south to Panama City Beach. Traffic was heavier than usual and it took a little over 2 hours instead of the regular 90 minute drive but it was well worth it once we were there! Christiane and my mom spent a lot of time playing in the waves, Kevin read a book and I relaxed in my beach chair by the water. We also tried to go for a walk but didn't make it very far before I got too tired. It was a very relaxing trip and I wish we could have stayed longer!

Adriane's away so daddy can FISH

(A)driane has been gone for too long now and I've been surviving on buffalo chicken sandwiches and the chow hall on base. On Friday we finished up a 4 week block of classes and now I'm on hold for another 2 months until SERE school. If you don't know what SERE school is search it on youtube, it's pretty wild. After SERE school I'll finally hit actual flight school and learn everything about rotary wing aviation from the ground up and start flying. I can't wait for that! While I'm not in class, studying, or waiting on A hand and foot, I'm usually fishing. Last night my buddy and I caught some monster bass, actually the biggest bass I've ever caught. I love fishing.

Other good news while A has been away is that we are about to close on our first house! It's an awesome house and was only on the market for one day before two people had already put offers on it. However, I am the lucky goose! I'll let you see a couple pictures, but you have to see the rest with your own eyes.

Since A has been gone, she keeps calling me remembering all these news things everyone has got for us...So thanks for all the great gifts everyone! I wish I could have come up for a little bit, but all 3 of us will be up north soon enough!

Baby Shower with my Sisters

Saturday afternoon I had my final get together with some of my sorority sisters. Erica, Rachel and Mrs. Sellaro did a beautiful job preparing for the day. The food was amazing as always and everything was so cute and girly. Erica and her aunt even made a diaper cake which was probably the most impressive thing...they are so creative! The girls all went in together to get us a pack 'n play which I am SO excited to set up when I get home. We also received a ton of other cute and useful stuff including huge boxes of diapers and wipes. I can't thank my friends enough for attending and for the wonderful gifts! Kevin and I both really appreciate everything. Below are some pictures from the day. If anyone has a group shot of me that I am not squinting in PLEASE send it to me so I can switch out the one that I have. I was having a horrible time trying to keep my eyes open in the sun!

Thursday night get together

On Thursday night my mom hosted a small shower for people in the area who weren't able to travel. It was mostly family friends and a few friends from high school but it was so great to see everyone! I loved being able to catch up. We played a few games and had everyone write down their best advice for the mother to be and their name suggestions. Thanks to my mom for arranging this for me...your cupcakes were delicious and probably my favorite part of the night! Also, thanks to everyone who was able to come! Most of the pictures are on my mom's camera so I will update this post later and add more, but here is a group shot of everyone that attended.

Brunch at Aunt Sherrie's

On Thursday morning my Aunt Sherrie prepared a wonderful brunch for me and a few other members of our family. I was really happy to see everyone, especially my Grandma who is in from Florida. The food was wonderful and I got a lot of really cute & thoughtful gifts. The rain held off for the morning and we were able to open presents in Aunt Sherrie's beautiful backyard. Sheena, who is due with a boy August 31, was also there so we got a lot of cute pictures of our bellies together. Below are a few from the brunch. Thanks again to Aunt Sherrie and to everyone else who came!

Saturday June 13, 2009

On Saturday I had my first baby shower and it was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better day. My mom and I left Friday night for Martinsburg, WV. The next morning we went to Kevin's Grammy's house where the shower was to take place. Most of the women in his family were there and it was so nice to see everyone. I can't thank everyone in the family enough for all of the wonderful gifts that we received. Here are some pictures from the day! My mom and Alaina are the only two missing from the last picture of everyone who came.

Home Sweet Home

I am proud to say that I survived the 12 hour car trip home to WV over the weekend! My Dad was nice enough to fly into Pensacola, FL on Friday evening to make the trip back with me. On Saturday morning we had breakfast and gave him a tour of Enterprise and Fort Rucker. We got on the road around 11:30. We drove until about 7:30 that evening and then stopped close to Knoxville, TN for the night (we had to stop in time to see the hockey game of course!). That night I couldn't sleep well, so we got back on the road around 2:30am. It sounds crazy but I am really glad we did it that way. We were back in town by 7:30 Sunday morning. That day I was pretty worn out so I didn't do much but just visit with my family.

Monday I made a trip to Charleston to visit Kaycee who I have missed terribly! Today I will be relaxing and then going to my Dad's for dinner to watch the Pens game. I am hoping to make a trip to Morgantown tomorrow evening but it all depends on how I am feeling. Let me know if you are in the area and would like to get together!

Friday I will be making the trip to Martinsburg with my mom before my first shower with Kevin's family on Saturday afternoon. I can't wait to see everyone! It seems like it has been forever.

Like I said, if you are in WV let me know if you would like to meet up sometime while I am home. I will be around until the 22nd-ish of June. I would love to be able to stay longer but I have to make it home that week for my 35 week check-up!

PS Wish you were here Kevin!!!

32.5 weeks

Since it has been two weeks since my last picture I made sure that we didn't forget to take one yesterday! I will be 33 weeks on Sunday. I had a doctor appointment yesterday and everything was still looking good. The doctor just did routine tests and there was nothing really to report. I guess no news is good news, right?

This week has gone by so fast! I can't believe it's already Thursday! I will be picking my Dad up tomorrow evening from the airport in Pensacola and then we will be leaving either Saturday or Sunday. I can't wait to get home and see everyone. So far I don't have very many set plans so let me know if you would like to make some while I am back!

Scentsy News!

At the beginning of every month Scentsy debuts a new warmer and scent of the month. June's warmer of the month LIBERTY and scent of the month COCONUT PALM are perfect for the summer months! To place an order, visit my web site at www.scentsy.com/adriane.

In honor of Scentsy's 5 year anniversary, gift certificates totaling $50, $100 and $200 are being given away randomly to customers placing orders during the entire month of June. In my opinion this is a great incentive to make your purchases during June!

Also, don't forget to check out the close out items section on my site where you can find great deals on discontinued warmers and scents.

If you haven't tried Scentsy products yet I urge you to! Before I became a consultant I really had no clue what Scentsy was all about. The company is pretty new to the east coast so I had to do a little research. After finding out how safe for children Scentsy products were I knew it was a company I wanted to get involved with. I was never much of a candle person just because of the risks. I was always nervous that I would light a candle, forget, and be reminded only when it was too late. With Scentsy warmers, there are no risks involved. You simply plug in the warmer and the tiny 25 or 15w light bulb heats the wax in the lid of the warmer. Another great feature is that the wax never becomes hot enough to harm you (or children & pets). If you have any questions about Scentsy products or the company in general leave a comment or send me an email (alohr1@gmail.com) and I'd be happy to answer them. Also, let me know if you would like to be added to my monthly newsletter!

Beach Weekend

Kevin's friend Denver's girlfriend is in for the summer so Friday we got together with them and had a cook out. They made shishkabobs and a great fruit desert and we brought my "famous" pasta salad. It was a great time! We decided over dinner that we would make a trip the beach the next day. Since Kevin and I had already been to Panama City, we decided to try out Destin just to see a new area. We didn't really have any set plans when we went, but we ended up staying the night so we had two days on the beach!

The first day we hit the first beach we saw. It was pretty nice but really crowded because it was a public beach and right in front of a few huge resorts. That evening we went out for dinner and had a GREAT seafood meal at AJ's. It was right on the water beside where boats were docked so we had a great view. Pictures are included of Kevin trying to catch the bird that was close to our table.

On Sunday we checked out an outdoor shopping center but it was so hot that we decided to give up trying to walk the streets and go back to the beach. We ended up going to Henderson State Park. There was a fee to go onto the beach but it was SO worth it! The beaches were beautiful and a lot less crowded than the public beach.
